The Department of Botany was established in 1981 and has made significant progress in academics since then. The Department maintains a botanical garden which has a rich diversity of wild, economically and medicinally important plants. The Department has recently established a herbal garden in which many medicinal and aromatic plants are being cultivated. The aim of the Department is to give the learners a sound understanding of Biosciences with emphasis on understanding the general aspects of plants and their importance. Further the Department aims to provide the platform for students to achieve excellence in academics.
