Year of Establishment: 2004 History of the department: In a first Environmental Studies was introduced in the college as compulsory module in 2004. This was in response to a Supreme Court Order obtained by M.C Mehta in 2003, who had filed a PIL in Supreme Court of India in 1991 regarding introduction of compulsory environmental education in Schools, Colleges and Universities. Since then Environmental Studies is taught as compulsory module in the college and whose syllabus and content is regulated by UGC from time to time.
