Brief history and vision of the Department: The Department of Kashmiri was established in the year 1990 with the aim to promote Kashmiri language and culture. To get admission in this course students have to qualify the entrance examination and students are selected on the merit basis in this programme. The intake capacity of students for enrolment is not fixed. Student is provided an entry into the course which is affiliated with university of Kashmir till 2017 and with Cluster University Srinagar from march 2017 onwards.
