As Head of the Sociology department, it is my honour to introduce you to this department of Amar Singh College, which has a proud history. Amar Singh Colllege is one of the oldest Colleges of Srinagar and has a rich history of producing persons of eminence in different fields.The Sociology Department which was created in the year 1998 and Sociology being the most important Social Science for understanding society and social relations and contributing for making it better,the relevance of subject has become more important because of the technological revolution impacting the society. In the department of Sociology, it is our endeavour to understand, guide and teach Sociology from Global level with emphasis to understand its impact on the local level.
